Jos Pothof has been working in our firm since 1977 and is heading the Employment Law Department for several years now. He focuses wholly on labour law while his practise has become more and more internationally oriented during the last ten years. Jos scope of work is related to foreign companies and Dutch companies with sister or parent companies in different countries, that come in touch with Dutch or European employment law. Topics like cross border labour, international takeovers of companies, employment or secondment of managers from abroad, issues on the European Works Council etc. often come up.
Jos is co-author of Employment Law in Europe (2002), Cross-Border Transfers and Redundancies (2005) and also of SDU Commentaar Arbeidsrecht (2006).
Since its foundation in 2000 Jos has been a member of the CMS International Practice Area Group on Employment Law. The CMS International Practice Area Group on Employment Law has delivered the Study on the application of Directive 2001/23/EC to cross-border transfers of undertakings, by order of the European Committee (2006) and the brochure Anti-Discrimination in Europe (2007).
