He has been a lawyer and partner at CMS Derks Star Busmann since 2001. Before that he was a partner and co-founder of Kupperman van der Wiel & Co and Wouters & Montijn, part of Arthur Andersen Tax Consultants. From 1988 to 1991 he worked as an attorney for Monsanto in Brussels. He began his career with De Brauw & Helbach (later De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek), working at their offices in The Hague and Brussels.
